@ ile oxumaré : This album is from Taylor’s A&M period, and fronted by flautist Herbie Mann, it features a stellar line-up of soul-jazz studio musicians. There’s a lot of pop soul here, and a sampling of the latin styles that both Mann and Taylor were known for. You’ll find young Roy Ayers and Sonny Sharrock here.

@ Herbie Mann :Largely on the strength of his talent for improvisation and willingness to experiment, Mann formulated a jazz style for the flute, raising to the rank of lead an instrument which prior to his arrival had been limited to a minor role in the jazz pantheon.
@ The Agency : One of the musicians who reached out to Roy during this period was none other than famed jazz flutist Herbie Mann. Herbie needed an immediate replacement for a gig at the Lighthouse Club in Los Angeles. Roy made the gig, the crowd went wild, and a new musical alliance was formed…the Roy Ayers-Herbie Mann collaboration lasted for four years.
