@ Sounds Like Shellac : Very “Enoch Light” sounds from Mr Harnell. My Parents had this record and played it when I was very young, when I got a bit older I trashed their copy and spent the best part of 20 years trying in vain to Replace it!! About a year ago I found a copy “online” paid for it and only the other week It came in the post!!
@ S p a c e A g e P o p M u s i c :One of the tunes Joe Harnell selected for an orchestral album dedicated to bossa nova was an old Bart Howard song titled, “In Other Words.” Harnell, an amateur pilot, suggested listing the tune by its subtitle, the first words of the lyrics: “Fly Me to the Moon.” Not only did his recording reach the Top 10 singles chart, but the album itself stayed in the Top 40 for the better part of the next year.
@ IMDB : n the late 1950s and early 1960s, the pianist, conductor and composer worked with Peggy Lee in concerts and on several of her albums. Harnell conducted the orchestra on Lee’s albums “Anything Goes: Cole Porter” and “Peggy Lee and the George Shearing Quintet,” and played piano on another of her albums, “Things Are Swingin.’” He also worked with singers like Frank Sinatra, Lena Horne and Pearl Bailey.
@ Filmtracks :The highlights of Harnell’s music (for “The Incredible Hulk”, the classic CBS television serie) are the moments of solitary contemplation, in addition to the remarkable love theme. Even better known from the show is “The Lonely Man Theme,” a solitary piano idea for the scientist’s transient movements that eventually was adapted as the show’s title theme
