Mickey Tucker - Mister Mysterious

June 3rd, 2009 by admin | Filed under Jazz.

@ El Goog Ja : This sound of Muse that I like. and for Ish’s Muse. “Nothing mysterious here — but a great little record that stands as one of Mickey Tucker’s few bold statements of the 70s! The set’s a soaring spiritual soul jazz affair”.
@ all-about-jazz :In 1991 Mickey was involved in a freak accident in Australia. The base of his spine was seriously damaged, and eventually it became imperative that surgery be performed that left him with a condition called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy in his right foot and leg.
@ Answers.com : Tucker was also present on several George Benson recordings dating from the early ’70s before the guitarist abandoned straight-ahead jazz. He also toured Europe with Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers, serving as the group’s musical director.
@ Whyfame : In the mid-’60s Mickey Tucker backed non-jazz acts Little Anthony & the Imperials, R&B vocalist Damita Jo, and comedian Timmy Rogers.
